Prop Maker
Bird's Nest Diorama as a Hero Prop for Season 2 Episode 3. The diorama needed to feature a magpie bird's nest with magpie eggs; requiring the nest to be removable from the diorama and safe for the actor to handle.

​This make included gathering and sanitising twigs and natural materials, making the fixed stand of the nest, researching and creating a realistic magpies' nest (the inner mud-cup, lining and outer encasing), adding in jewelled embellishments to represent the magpie, making the eggs out of clay and layering various painting techniques.

This was a year long residency created as a development programme for an emerging production designer. During this period, I had the opportunity to design small scale productions, assist designers on larger scale shows and have practical hands-on experience working within the following departments: wardrobe, props, scenic workshop and construction.

Designer
​Using a creative brief, production specification and script, I designed the set and costume. I started with the main themes from the creative brief and refined ideas based on core concepts. Using this as a foundation, I made some quick sketches and created a mood/inspiration board - developing on ideas for colours & lighting and introducing symbolic interpretations.

This was a design task assigned to present initial ideas for a conceptual Children's theatre production. ​The featured video above shows the 3D construction of the set made using SketchUp.
Reasons to be Hopeful

Model Making Artist
​​I facilitated model making workshops where each participant made a model of their house showing their reasons of hope in each room. The themes of the rooms were: comfort food (Image 4), socially distanced (Image 3), appreciation of essential workers (Image 6), rest & relaxation (Image 9 & 10), the future (Image 7 & 8) and nature (Image 5). The model above is the one I created in order to demonstrate simple model making techniques to participants.
Project Info
In response to lockdown and rapidly changing times, Leeds Playhouse created a creative engagement project called "Reasons to be Hopeful" - an intergenerational project that connected 100 people with 10 artists for 10 weeks inbetween February and May 2021 collectively creating a multi-media tapestry on display at the Playhouse during Summer 2021.

Project Info 
tutti frutti commissioned a range of artists to create a series of recorded performed readings of children’s books, which were all written and created by global majority and/or disabled artists, that audiences could watch online. The recorded readings were aimed at children aged 3+, created for schools to watch in class and families to watch at home.
