We Bare Bears

Picture
We Bare Bears Cave
This was the first model I made to scale based upon an existing design. It is the house from We Bare Bears, which is an animated series created by Daniel Chong for Cartoon Network.

Feedback for the Model

The day I completed the model, I posted the images on Social Media. It was retweeted by the creator of the show and was well received by the community of We Bare Bears' followers.

Creating the Model

The model was created in a deconstructed shoe box. I first painted and assembled the background; and then created the structure of the cave using polystyrene. The three images below show the development of this process. The first structure I made (Image 2) was not an accurate representation of the cave and had to recreated (Image 3). I had to adjust the existing background by taking out a section in order for it to match the new structure.

Once the structure was complete, I painted the the rocks with acrylic and started making the grass. The grass is made up of very fine sawdust painted in different colours, as shown in Image 6.

I then made the window and door frames out of paper-mache and cardboard. The door features a bead as the handle and a bit of painted sponge as the doormat.

Upon completion of the main structure, I made the individual objects that are located around the Cave (Image 10). The following list is the of objects with the materials they are made of:
